Vasonatrin peptide is a chimera consisting of C-type natriuretic peptide plus the five C-terminal residues of atrial natriuretic peptide. It has the venodilating actions of CNP, the natriuretic actions of ANPand arterial vasodilating actions that are not associated with either ANP or CNP. It is also shown to protect dopaminergic neurons against injuries induced by N-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium compounds. Wei, C-M; et al., J.Clin.
