Amino Acid Alcohols for Peptide Synthesis
Amino acid alcohols are products in which the –COOH of an amino acid is replaced with –CH2OH. Amino acid alcohols are synthetic precursors for may types of dipeptide isosteres and chiral catalysts. They are the C-terminal residue of peptide alcohols. Peptide alcohols are precursors for preparing peptide aldehydes that are potent protease inhibitors. Additionally, many peptide alcohols are biologically active, such as octreotide, gramicidins and peptaibiols.
AAPPTec provides the largest selection of high quality optically pure amino acid alcohols suitable for synthesis. Amino acid alcohols are available with N-Boc or N-Fmoc protection.
