Other Names: VIC; Endophilin Beta, Mouse
VIC is a putative-gastrointestinal hormone and a member of the endothelin family. It differes from endothelin-1 by only 3 amino acid residues. Compared to endothelin, VIC shows a higher contractor activity on mouse and guinea pig ileum, whereas its vasocostrictor activity on porcine artery is weaker.
