RR-SRC is a tyrosine kinase substrate commonly used to ascertain the activity of tyrosine kinases by measuring the phosphorylation of RR-SRC in both plant and animal cells. The substrate has also been used to monitor the purification of the insulin receptor, a protein tyrosine kinase. Tyrosine phosphorylation of RR-SRC is stimulated in vitro by EGF (epidermal growth factor). Casnellie, JE; et al., Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 79, 282, (1982); Pike, LJ; et al., J. Biol.
