Aldosterone Secretion Inhibiting Factor (1-35) is a neuroendocrine peptide originally isolated from cultured bovine chromaffin cells. It has been found to be structurally distinct from ANF. Evidence suggests ASIF might be involved in the paracrine regulation of aldosterone secretion along with ANF. The presence of both peptides in cultured chromaffin cells suggests that this system may be used as a model for studying natriuretic neuropeptide production.
