Fmoc-Lys(Mtt)-OH is utilized in preparing peptides containing a tag or label attached to a lysine side chain. It is also used in preparing peptides cyclized through the lysine sidechain. The Mtt group can be selectively removed with mild acid which will not remove Boc/tBu protecting groups nor cleave peptides from Wang or Rink amide resins (Technical Bulletin #1181).
