N-Fmoc-4-iodo-L-phenylalanine
Fmoc-Phe(4-I)-OH is used to prepare peptides containing the versatile Phe(4-I) residue. 4-Iodophenylalanine can be converted to phosphophenylalanine (SS Chauhan, A Varshney, B Verma, MW Pennington, Tetrahedron Lett. 2007, 48, 4051-4) or the protected phosphotyrosine analog F2Pmp(OEt)2 (MN Qabar, J Urban, M Kahn, Tetrahedron 1997, 53, 11171-8). The Phe(4-I) residue can be converted into a wide variety of substituted phenylalanines by Heck coupling (A Ritzén, B Basu, SK Chattopadhyay, et al., Tetrahedron Asymmetry 1998, 9, 503-12) or Suzuki coupling (A Ojida, H Tsutsumi, N Kasagi, I Hamachi, Tetrahedron Lett. 2005, 46, 3301-5).
Fmoc-Phe(4-I)-OH is also available in bulk quantnties. Please inquire for pricing.
